Durable Medical Equipment (DME)

Bay State Medical provides quality Home Medical Equipment to all of our patients who are faced with a home healthcare situation. From Wheelchairs to Hospital Beds, we strive to make our patients as comfortable as possible while getting them the equipment they need to properly heal.

Manual Wheelchairs:

  • Lightweight: Weighing in at approximately 31 lbs, this chair is made for patients that are not strong enough to propel a standard-weight manual wheelchair.
  • Standard Weight: This is a standard wheelchair prescribed for any patient that is unable to ambulate safely by themselves. These wheelchairs weigh approximately 36 lbs.
  • Heavy Duty/Bariatric: Made for patients with weights over 300 lbs, these chairs differ in weight depending on their strength.

Hospital Beds:

Bay State Medical elects to carry fully electric hospital beds at no extra cost to our patients. All Bay State Medical beds are controlled completely by hand control, with a back-up crank in case of power outages.

Support Surfaces:

Low Air-Loss Mattresses: These mattresses are for patients that cannot re-position themselves to relieve gravitational pressure while in their hospital bed.  The low air-loss mattress replaces the existing bed mattress.

Trapeze Bars:

Free Standing: These trapeze bars come with a free-standing base that can be rolled around the bed to help patients reposition themselves/rise from a supine position.

Attached: These trapeze bars are attached to the head of the hospital bed and cannot be moved around the bed to any other position. This style is meant to aid the patient in sitting up from a supine position.

Patient Lifts:

Manual Patient Lift: This patient lift is operated by a hydraulic cylinder that is pumped in order to raise the patient. Delivery includes a standard, commode/toileting, or divided-leg sling.
